What the price levels usually buy

Monthly budget (SGD)What you can usually expect
Under 500Basic fixes and reports. Little or no new content. Be careful.
500 – 1,500A small set of keywords, technical fixes, a few pages improved or written each month, Google Business Profile care
1,500 – 3,000More keywords, regular new content, link building, competitor tracking
3,000+Big or competitive sites, many pages or markets, a dedicated team

What changes your price

  1. How competitive your industry is. "Divorce lawyer Singapore" costs far more to win than "piano tuning Bedok".
  2. How many keywords and pages. Ten keywords for one service is a different job from 200 product pages.
  3. What state your website is in. A slow or broken site needs fixing before SEO can work.
  4. Content. Who writes the new pages, and how many a month.
  5. AI search (GEO). Some agencies now include it, some charge extra. Ask.

How to spot a bad deal

  • Guaranteed #1 rankings. Google itself says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking. Walk away.
  • No clear list of what's done each month. You should see the work, not just a report.
  • Long lock-ins with no exit. Three months to start is normal. Twelve with no way out is not.
  • They own your accounts. Your website, Google Analytics and Search Console should be in your name.
  • Cheap link packages. Hundreds of links for a low price usually means spam that can hurt you.

Quick answers

How much does SEO cost in Singapore? From agencies' published prices, small businesses usually pay S$500 to S$1,500 a month. Competitive industries often pay S$3,000 a month or more.

How long before SEO works? It varies. Think months, not weeks, and longer in competitive industries. Be wary of anyone who promises a date.

Is SEO cheaper than Google Ads? Over time it can be, because you don't pay per click. But ads can start showing as soon as they're approved. Many businesses run both.

Can I use a government grant for SEO? Sometimes. Since 30 September 2026, Enterprise Singapore's EDGE grant has replaced PSG, EDG and MRA for new applications, and some activities only cover pre-approved vendors. Check the latest on Enterprise Singapore's website before you sign.
